and many times they’ll reject you as a way to try to dim your light. Other times, because you’re a mirror of their own shadows, of what they haven’t worked on within themselves.

i’m also learning to accept that i’ll often be the one who takes the hits others wouldn’t get back up from. someone has to do it.
